In todays age, most people write on computers, tablets or other electronic devices. But for me, writing by hand is a great help in the creative process, and I always have notebooks/paper near me.
The list of things I write by hand is long. I have my journal I use to track a lot of things in, all of it handwritten. I take notes about changes needing to be made while reading my works in progres. If I hit a rough spot in a story that doesn't want to flow the right way, switching to handwriting often helps me through it. Timelines just works best for me if done in hand first. Character sheets and planning also often orks better written by hand.
Now I admit that my handwriting isn't the best. If I write really slow I can write both normal and cursive pretty well, but when taking notes it goes fast, and sometimes I do have trouble reading what the hell it was I had written.
Since I love handwriting so much, I better admit I also have a thing for notebooks. I have way to many notebooks, and even a ring binder filled with lose papers with story ideas, notes and stuff. I probably should throw them out since the chance of me ever using anything in them is around 0.5%, but I'm nostalgic and I don't think I could ever do that. Maybe.
Have a great day
A writer's life
This is the blog where a slightly crazy author writes rambling posts about everything and nothing. There's posts about my books, writing and social media. Posts about cooking and reviews. And there's posts about life and the challenges I have set myself in 2019.
Please notice: I do not earn money on this blog. I do not have affiliated links, and I'm not paid by any product I might mention on this blog. I'm just an artist who loves to blog. If you want to support me, buying one of my books would warm my heart. If they aren't to your taste, then support another indie artist instead.
We could all need your help.
Thank you <3
